This page explains which personal data I process when you visit svensidler.com, send me a project request or ask for a free channel check, why I do it, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
Company Sidler, sole proprietorship of Sven Eduard Sidler, Gemeindehausplatz 13, 6048 Horw, Switzerland. Email: sven@svensidler.com
For any question about your data, write to this address.
What this website does not do
- No cookies.
- No analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
- Fonts and images are loaded from this website itself, not from other services.
Visiting this website
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. in the USA. When you open a page, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, the page you requested, the time and your browser. This is needed to deliver the website and to protect it against abuse. Netlify keeps these logs for a limited time.
Under the GDPR, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f): my legitimate interest in a secure and working website.
Project requests
When you send the form, I receive your name, your email address, the link to your channel or website, your answers and the package you chose. If you came through a link with a source tag (for example from X), I also see that tag. Netlify stores the request together with technical data such as your IP address and browser, checks it with an automatic spam filter and forwards it to my email inbox.
I use this data only to review your request, answer you and prepare your project. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b): steps you asked for before a possible contract.
Free channel check
When you ask for a free channel check, I receive your first name, your email address, the link to your YouTube channel and, if you add it, a short note about your clients. Netlify stores and forwards the request in the same way as a project request.
I use this data only to prepare your free check, send it to you by email and answer your questions. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b): steps you asked for before a possible contract. The retention periods below apply in the same way.
Working on your project
If we work together, I use the following services. Each one receives only what is needed for its part of the work. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b): carrying out our contract.
- Google (email, Google Drive and Google Sheets): our emails, your order details and your delivery folder.
- Stripe: payment. Stripe processes your payment details. I never see your full card number.
- Anthropic (Claude, an AI assistant): helps me research and write. It receives the public information about your channel and your answers in the form.
- YouTube research tools: receive the public link of your channel to look at public data of your channel and of channels in your niche.
Data outside Switzerland
The services named on this page process data mainly in the USA, and partly in the EU, for example in Ireland. Where a provider is certified under the Swiss-U.S. or EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the transfer relies on it. Otherwise it relies on the standard contractual clauses approved by the Swiss and EU authorities.
How long I keep your data
- Requests that do not lead to a project: deleted within 12 months.
- Projects, orders and receipts: kept for 10 years, because Swiss law requires it for business records. Under the GDPR, the legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(c): a legal obligation.
Your rights
You can ask what data I have about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use and receive a copy of it. Write to sven@svensidler.com. I answer within 30 days.
If you think I handle your data incorrectly, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or, if you live in the EU, to the data protection authority in your country.
Changes
I update this page when my processing changes. The version on this page is the one that applies.
